In a Nutshell
The Klaserie Family Safaris are affordable 7 or 14 day family “Safaris with-a-difference” which aim to instil and strengthen a love of Wild Nature in adults and kids through the sharing of powerful and unforgettably fun-filled experiences. They offer families and individuals the chance to spend enriching, special time together on a safari,
away from the pressures of the rat-race. Participant numbers are limited to 8 adults and 12 kids.
Things you’ll get up to on
the Klaserie Family Experience
A very light combination of the Diepkloof Bush Skills Course and the Kololo Conservation Course is what the Klaserie Family Experience is all about. During this Wilderness adventure you will touch on most aspects of the more intensive courses but in a way that is exciting and meaningful for all ages. Obviously, the 1 week Experience covers much less than the 2 week one…but then again, we know you’ll be back for more!
This experience suits those who want to break away and spend some quality family time doing something rewarding, different and exciting!
You will get to experience the wilderness in a hands-on manner that all ages can’t get enough of. You will do daily game drives and bush walks. The remote Parrot Tree tent camp will be your home for one night on the 7 day Experience, two nights on the 14 day Experience - an exciting and unique adventure in itself!
We have a minimum age of 6 years for WILD TIME participants; children under the age of 16 years are not allowed to walk in the bush. During walks they will either be taken on a game drive or will remain at the camp under adult supervision.
Your time here may be shared by up to 3 other families. Should you so wish, we’ll endeavour to put you all in touch with each other on the internet so that you and your kids can get acquainted with the other families before you meet in the bush. Our blog is also very useful for this. Close and lasting friendships are often formed through shared Experiences.
This is a fun, interactive learning experience that will give your whole family new insights into the African Wilderness, its Wildlife and Nature in general.

- Adults accomodated in private chalets (en suite – additional $100 pps/week); children in shared accommodation – boys and girls separate – or up to 2 children sharing with parents on request.
