Elephants Drift Main Camp is charming and rustic safari game lodge consisting of a number of separate thatched buildings arranged around a large central lawn. It is situated in the Lowveld, on a riverbed under huge shady trees. After good summer rains the small dam on which the lodge is situated pushes water up to the edge of the outdoor living area.
The safari game lodge consists of a covered barbeque area, four chalets, one of which is en-suite, and a comfortable lounge and swimming pool. All were fully refurbished in 2008.
The chalets sleep 1-4 people depending on the group size. On a full 10 person Course two rooms would accommodate 2 people and two rooms would accommodate 3 people. If there are vacancies on some courses some guests may have single accommodation.
Cooking is done over an open fire or in the well-equipped kitchen with most meals eaten in the outdoor area or thatched lapa. A thatched dining area adjoining the kitchen is occasionally used when it rains.
The Experience convenor’s house is nearby with high-speed internet connection and telephone.
You will spend at least a couple of nights at The Parrot Tree Tent Camp. This picturesque bush camp consists of three two person dome tents, one large safari tent which accommodates four people, a kitchen, outdoor living area under the trees and a simpe kitchen. All are on decks on the edge of a small cliff overlooking a magical riverbed and waterhole. The ablutions are supplied with hot and cold running water and the camp runs on solar power.
